Are you curious about books that show the world from different angles? Our new Queer Book Club is a great place to discover stories addressing queer perspectives and exploring topics beyond the status quo – away from heteronormativity and traditional notions of ‘normality’.
The group is led by Robin Goldstein, a voracious reader transplanted from Manhatten living in Mannheim for several years now. Robin can often be found cycling, rowing on the Neckar, and hiking anywhere there are hills and the possibility of a gasthaus serving local food. She’s all about strengthening queer perspectives and making the diversity of human experiences visible.
Robin has selected four books for a start – and the group will decide together what will be next on the reading list. We want to discuss topics such as sexuality, romance, identity, neurodiversity, anti-colonialism, social justice and more. Whether you’re into fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, memoirs or coming-of-age stories – there’s room for every topic. Come along and bring your thoughts, questions and ideas!
