11th HLF – Highlights, Wednesday, September 25
/ via heidelberg laureate forum /
The third day of the Heidelberg Laureate Forum has ended and we have collected some memorable moments in our “Snapshots” video above.
The Wednesday of the HLF featured a new addition to the program – the “Science Hub Showcase.” Here, Young Researchers were given the opportunity to learn about some of the renowned scientific institutes and companies in Heidelberg and the surrounding region. Attendees could expand their professional network and learn more about the wide range of employment opportunities for mathematicians and computer scientists.
The day closed out with attendees taking a leisurely boat cruise along the Neckar river followed by vivacious boat party against the backdrop of the historical old town of Heidelberg.
As always, select photos from this day can be found on our Flickr page.
Don’t forget to check out part two ofthe VLOG@HLF24. In this episode, Rachel Thomas and Marianne Freiberger talk to Maybritt Schillinger, who chaired the panel discussion on climate, about how maths and computer science can help, and we hear from young researchers about the effects climate change has on their countries. We also explore a surprising challenge in pure mathematics with Fields Medallist Efim Zelmanov, and we talk to HLF alumni about what taking part has meant for them.
